Galaxy Fold

Recently, Samsung has posted a video on their YouTube Official Channel after the large number of sold of market, in the video they instructed Galaxy Fold users safety tips on how to use their Galaxy Fold Phone to avoid damage. It also show how the Korean giant's customers avoid unfortunate incidents that may damage their devices.

  • First in the video, Samsung advised users not to press too hard on the screen of the Galaxy Fold because this device is not protected by glass, which will make the screen of the device more susceptible to damage.
  • Additionally, the Korean tech giant also recommends that users place the device away from objects made of metal because it is equipped with a lot of magnets, which supports folding.
  • Owing to the folding screen design, the Galaxy Fold will not be as resistant to water / dust as some other high-end devices. Therefore, Samsung advised users to keep the device away from water and dust.
  • At the end of the video, Samsung also introduces the Galaxy Fold's Premier service. This service will allow users to directly meet Samsung experts, answer questions and guide users to use the device in more detail.

At the 2019 IFA event, Samsung announced the official launch date of Galaxy Fold after many delays since April. Thus, the device went on sale yesterday in the Korean market at a constant price of 1,980 USD.

The reason why Samsung is delaying the sale of Galaxy Fold is because this foldable smartphone has a screen error that affects the user experience. Therefore, Samsung was forced to postpone this super folding screen rack product to correct mistakes.

And according to Sammobile's findings, changes made by Samsung to the new Galaxy Fold are on the screen of the device which is now protected by a special layer of stickers right at the top of the screen. Initially, this protective layer was designed to be completely separate from the engine chassis.

Even though Samsung has warned that removing this protective layer will affect the device, many people don't pay attention or maybe forget the warning and still remove the protective layer because they think this is only a screen protector, resulting in serious computer problems.

In addition, the Galaxy Fold hinges are also overcome by Samsung's dust cover by adding a new protective cover. But the Korean company said that they also strengthened the folding screen panel by adding a metal layer under the screen, avoiding outside dirt particles that caused the panel to collide even if they were inside the camera body.

Finally, although Samsung hasn't changed the design details significantly on the Galaxy Fold, the thickness and weight of the cellphone also increased. The upgraded Galaxy Fold version now has a thickness of 15.7mm and a weight of 276g compared to 15.5mm and 263g in the previous version. However, these small changes will certainly not affect much the user experience.

Samsung Galaxy Fold
The launch and relaunch of Galaxy Fold has been a wild journey. From manufacturing defects noted by reviewers to slips, delays and now a redesign, it has not been easy for Samsung to bring the Fold to market.

A new report from the Yonhap News Agency (via Android Central) suggests that Galaxy Fold will be relaunched in Korea within a week, on September 6 to be precise. If you still did not know, that is the opening day of the IFA 2019 fair in Berlin.

It is not clear at this stage if IFA will provide the platform for Samsung to show the updated Galaxy Fold or not, but it seems quite likely. They made us believe that the Galaxy Fold would launch in late September, but Samsung seems reckless to drag that rumored launch forward.

This could also be a power game to counter Huawei's own folding Mate X, which is also expected to be launched imminently. Although there are question marks about the folding made in China, as Huawei addresses Android's bans and its own quality control.

Yonhap reports that the Fold will be available in small batches, with an initial shipment of only 20,000 to 30,000 units available in South Korea. The price will be set at 2.3 million won, equivalent to approximately $ 1,900.

Samsung has previously said it will launch the Fold in other nations sometime later in September. That means that an exact date for the relaunch of the Galaxy Fold in the United States is still unknown. If we listen more at IFA, we will be the first to inform you. It is worth noting that operators will probably provide more details if this relaunch date ends up being correct.
