Just a month ago towards the end of May, the US Department of Commerce appointed Huawei, the Chinese technology titan to the list of entities. However, this resulted in the removal of all American companies from all types of trade relations with Chinese companies.
After a month of chaos, things can get back on track for Huawei as Trump, the US president has announced that Huawei China can once again buy equipment from US suppliers.
This event took place at the G20 Summit which is currently being held in Osaka, where Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, leaders of the two countries are sitting together to discuss trade tensions that have now declined a bit.
According to reports, the American president, Donald Trump, for now, has allowed US-based companies to restore trade relations with Huawei. Therefore, Chinese companies can once again purchase products and services from American businesses until further notice.
According to a report from Bloomberg, Trump told reporters at a press conference after the G20 summit, "US companies can sell their equipment to Huawei." This marked a rapid change from Huawei's blacklist released by the US Commerce Department last month.
However, the reversal came with limits when Trump told reporters as far as sales authorization, "We are talking about equipment where there are no major national security issues with it." The statement, however, refers to the ongoing concerns of the US government. for China's telecommunications equipment and its potential potential to facilitate espionage.
At present, it is still unclear which products US companies can sell to Huawei and which will be blocked due to national security issues. Meanwhile, Trump told reporters that the existing import tariff would not be revoked, but he agreed to stop the trade war by avoiding new levies on additional Chinese goods.
Instead, Trump said that China would "buy agricultural products" from the US, but there were no additional details about the plan. Trump further stated, "If we make a deal, it will be a very historic event." When this "complex" agreement took place it was still unknown. Assuming there are no changes at all, Trump told reporters that the US Commerce Department will meet during the next week to issue Huawei from the blacklist.
